Detailed Summary
Global Poverty Act of 2007 - Directs the President, through the Secretary of State, to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the U.S. foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.
Requires the strategy to contain specific and measurable goals and to consist of specified components, including: (1) continued investment or involvement in existing U.S. initiatives related to international poverty reduction and trade preference programs for developing countries; (2) improving the effectiveness of development assistance and making available additional overall United States assistance levels as appropriate; (3) enhancing and expanding debt relief as appropriate; (4) mobilizing and leveraging the participation of businesses and public-private partnerships; (5) coordinating the goal of poverty reduction with other internationally recognized Millennium Development Goals; and (6) integrating principles of sustainable development and entrepreneurship into policies and programs.
Sets forth specified reporting requirements. Directs the Secretary of State to designate a coordinator who will have primary responsibility for overseeing and drafting the reports, as well as responsibility for helping to implement recommendations contained in the reports.<br>

We know for a fact that this bill will cost America $845 billion above and beyond what America already spends on global aid in the next thirteen years. America will be locked in to giving .7 percent of the U.S. gross national product. That in itself is scary enough, but there is way more to Obama's bill. It also locks us into United Nations Millennium Summit. Cliff Kincaid from Accuracy in Media is all over this bill. He writes-(Underlined by me)
The bill institutes the United Nations Millennium Summit goals as the benchmarks for U.S. spending.
"It is time the United States makes it a priority of our foreign policy to meet this goal and help those who are struggling day to day," a statement issued by supporters, including Obama, said.
Specifically, it would "declare" that the official U.S. policy is to eliminate global poverty, that the president is "required" to "develop and implement" a strategy to reach that goal and requires that the U.S. efforts be "specific and measurable."
Kincaid said that after cutting through all of the honorable-sounding goals in the plan, the bottom line is that the legislation would mandate the 0.7 percent of the U.S. GNP as "official development assistance."
"In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that (U.N.) declaration commits nations to banning 'small arms and light weapons' and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention of Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and the Convention of the Rights of the Child," he said.
Those U.N. protocols would make U.S. law on issues ranging from the 2nd Amendment to energy usage and parental rights all subservient to United Nations whims.
Kincaid also reported Jeffrey Sachs, who runs the "Millennium Project," confirms a U.N. plan to force the U.S. to pay 0.7 percent of GNP would add about $65 billion a year to what the U.S. already donates overseas.
And the only way to raise that funding, Sachs confirms, "is through a global tax, preferably on carbon-emitting fossil fuels," Kincaid writes.
On the forum run by Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, one writer reported estimates of taxes from 35 cents to $1 dollar a gallon on gasoline would be needed.(LINK)

Its getting closer and closer to the election and still important facts such as these are being hidden and need to be ferreted out. The mainstream media is under a trance, hypnotized by a man who sounds more and more like a slimey used car salesman -- full of windy promises with no substance for good. A person who will take your last dime and not give a care about it. He is not for the people -- at least not the people of this country! Wake Up Americans before the disaster occurs. Change it while you can, but not in the direction of Obama unless you too are hypnotized. When you awake it will be too late.

When Obama said to Joe the Plumber that he wants to redistribute (share) the wealth he is talking about globally. THis ran in the New York Times this summer, but no one else is talking about it. Could someone please tell me who is running our media? I really do want to know. America is a great country. COuld it improve, sure, but what change is obama talking about. There is a good saying to keep in mind at these times, "Don't expect that things can't get worse. They can." Obama is running on the platform of a bad economy that both parties had their hands in. It can and will get worse if Obama is in office.

Our media is liable for making the news instead of reporting on it. The only way I know of in fixing it is to start supporting smaller outlets and helping them to grow. Competition is a great fix; but it is very hard to fight panopolies. Panopolies were largely at fault in bring Hitler to power.

Why doesn't Mc Csin reveal this Obama-Biden Bill to the people?
Our election primaries were positioned in such a way that Obama would be up against a candidate that possed the least amount of threat. That would be John McCain. The primaries were flooded with candidates to create noise and confusion. Many states where ACORN had strong holds moved the primaries up to select the candidates.
What no one is explaining is that ‘Mobilization Committee to End the War’ and ‘Committee of Liaison with Families of Servicemen Detained in North Vietnam’ [COLIFAM] were offshoots of the Weathermen and involved Bill Ayers.
The POWs that came home from Vietnam were chosen by COLIFAM.
Now, I'm not military, so it is not my place to say what happened to John McCain, who was held in North Vietnam. North Vietnam was reserved for prisoners of interest. So I will direct you to:

Chapter 5, Page 252 is written by John McCain. He tells what happened to him as a POW. He speaks of being in the Glee Club, the Bridge Tornaments (card games) and teaching History Classes. He closes out his entry with,
"But the fun we had and the joy we shared in that cell was really one of the most enriching times of my life." page 257.
Bill Ayers is very familiar with John McCain's time as a POW. The COLIFAM was in continuous contact with the prisoners of North Vietnam. They were of special interest. This could be a reason why McCain doesn't reveal things. Or maybe not. We don't know. But if this is why, then who will be in control if McCain wins? We already know who will be in control if Obama wins. Either way, the USA citizens do not win.

World famous opponent of South African apartheid, Nelson Mandela, celebrated his 89th birthday last Wednesday by announcing the formation of a Global council of elders, known simply as "The Elders."
So far The Elders includes Kofi Annan, Desmond Tutu, Gro Harlem Brundtland, Mary Robinson, Jimmy Carter, Li Zhaoxing, Muhammad Yunus, Ela Bhatt, Graca Machel, and, of course, Nelson Mandela.
The group of high-profile international leaders is intended to be an independent body of "wise" men and women that will use their combined experience to solve any of the host of problems currently facing the "global village". "The only agenda of The Elders is that of humanity," reads The Elders' website.
"I see The Elders as a small but independent group that may fill an existing void in the world community," said Elders member, former U.S. president Jimmy Carter. Carter claimed that the group is "almost impervious to the consequences of outside criticism." Members of The Elders cannot currently be in political office, with the intent of creating a non-partisan body.
Nevertheless, while some would debate the notion that the members of the group are 'non-partisan' in the first place, what is more certain is that its members are by and large united by a common commitment to radical social liberalism and population control.
The Elders is the brainchild of British entrepreneur Richard Branson, owner of Virgin, and singer Peter Gabriel, who together approached Mandela about the project a number of years ago. According to The Times Online, the pair has already raise £9 million for the group, which will be used for its first three years of operation.

I believe that the American people need to start making the political office holders liable and answerable for all they do. Bring back to your "people" what you have done for them, then see if you get that 30%raise or reelected. As for Obama's bill S2433,that should also be put back to the American people. The ones that send their hard earned money to organizations that "feed" the people of these third world countries. Obama should just take hisself back to where ever he came from. GOD bless the Senator Coburn for standing up against this. Pray that more congressmen and senators come to their senses concerning this and they overturn this bill.
